Aluminum frames were an expensive option in the 1950's and 60's. They were sold in high end optical shops and by special order. We have a selection of hand engraved aluminum frames made in Italy by the designer Gaspari. These frames were designed to last many years. New, never used examples are extremely rare in the antique marketplace. Aluminum frames that are in excellent condition are available in limited quantities. Most such frames come to the antique marketplace from estate sales and auctions. We generally have a few aluminum frames from old store and warehouse stock.
