There are two methods of measuring cable temples. Method one, measure from the hinge pin down at a slight angle to the center of the curve behind the ear. The standard size measured in this manner is 4 1/2 inches. This length fits most adults. Method two, measure from the hinge pin to the end of the cable stretched out straight. Care must be used when measuring total length in this manner. It is easy to damage the cable end. Usually, total cable length is 2 inches longer than the measurement in method one. For example, a 4 1/2 inch cable measured by method one will usually measure 6 1/2 inches in method two.
