1800 Sliding Temple Spectacles
Sliding temple spectacles were hand made until the invention of the spectacle making machine in 1833. This style frame featured temples that could be retracted to make the entire frame shorter in length. Such frames were popular with people who had to travel. They could be stored in a much smaller case. Examples were made in steel, silver, coin silver, and gold.

These double lens spectacles have the sunglass in the second lens.
Both front lens are missing.
They were probably a reading type strength.
New lenses can easily be installed.
