This is a rare scientific item related to the northeast and the State of Maine. In 1932 a total eclipse of the sun was visable in parts of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts. These eye protecting glasses where made to view the eclipse. They are made from celluliod and quite fragile. This pair was never used and is still mounted on the original card.
